Southern Index, Inc. first opened its doors in 1988 to fill an industry need for a reliable, professional tab manufacturer. Starting with only two employees in the corner of a local printer’s warehouse, Bill Waugh, President, was dedicated to manufacturing custom index tabs. Southern Index has grown to be recognized as the nation’s leading producer of index divider tabs. Our private label program for blank, mylar, and custom divider tabs has given distributors the opportunity to resell tabs that are high quality, cost efficient, and guaranteed to perform. Our products are sold throughout the United States and Canada.

In the mid 2000s, we recognized the impact electronic substitution on our traditional markets and began an extensive capital investment plan to meet the changing demands in digital printing. Our expansion included the addition of presses designed to manufacture integrated forms for internal and external communication and marketing. These products include ID cards, integrated labels, name badges, temporary license plates, prescription labels, custom perforations, and many more digital substrates.

Today, Southern Index continues to operate as a family-owned business where offering quality through our products and adding value through our customer service is our highest priority.
